Last school year Peter had some trouble finding inspiration for his stories. However, this week your prompts have sparked his imagination once again, and he has been writing freely.

Fiction Writing Intensive - for students who want to hone their craft and creativity in an inspiring and nurturing environment. Enlightening prompts and examples will you start you off on some new pieces of writing. Later in the week, get generous and productive feedback to guide you into further development.
Monday, July 8 to Friday, July 12, 9am to 2pm each day. Various food options are available within walking distance, or students can bring lunch (no refrigerator or microwave available on premises).

Richard Weems is an award-winning writer and teacher. His students have won national recognition for their writing. Full bio below.
RICHARD WEEMS is the author of Anything He Wants, winner of the Spire Fiction Award and finalist for the Eric Hoffer Book Award, as well as the Cheap Stories eBook series, an Amazon bestseller, The Way of It: New and Selected Cheap Stories, Stark Raving Blue and most recently From Now On, You're Back. He is the founder and director of the BCA Summer Writing Program and former Director of Creative Writing for the NJ Governor’s School of the Arts. His short story publications include Passages North, New World Writing, North American Review, The Gettysburg Review, Other Voices, The Mississippi Review, Pif Magazine, Barcelona Review and The Beloit Fiction Journal. His students have gone on to publish their own books and have won various awards, including the AWP Award Series, Presidential Arts Scholars, Michelle Obama's National Poetry Ambassadors program, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, Young Arts and many, many others. He currently teaches literature and creative writing at Bergen County Academies.
